ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Pressman, who was yesterday reported dead, still lingers at the hospital, though in a low state.
Blenheim, last night.
A Sounds settler named Herbert Severn, aged 40 years, was drowned at lienepuru at 6 o’clock last evening. The dingy in which he was landing from a yacht swamped about 50 yards from the shore. The body was recovered. Christchurch, last night.
Hannah Sutea, a widow, was found dead in bed on Sunday morning at a house in Linwood. She was last seen alive between 5 and 6 on Thursday night. At the inquest on William Warr, the victim of Saturday’s fatal tram accident, held at tlie hospital this morning, the accident was attributed to the boy jump- . ing off the wrong way while the tram ' was in motion. A verdict of death from injuries, the result of an accident, no blame being attachable to the tram officials, was returned.
c Invercargill, last night. On Sunday evening the body of John Murdoch, carpenter, was found close to tho edge of the Bluff railway platform with his right temple driven in. Deceased was seen on the platform of a carriage as the late train entered the station on Saturday night, and it is supposed ho slipped as he was stepping off, and was killed instantly.
