OUR SOLDIERS.

THE TROOPERS IN WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The transport Tagus made a smart passago from Port Chalmers, and was moored at Wellington at noon. Notwithstanding lior unexpectedly early arrival, there was a large attendance of the public at the wharves, and a hearty reception was given to the troops. The Premier and Mayor of Wellington addressed words of welcome to tho men, who woro then set at liberty and went ashore with their frionds.

Dunedin, last night. Ten convalescent troopers were botore the Medical Board this morning. They are not able to start work yot. Those in the hospital aro progressing favorably. There is only one serious case —Lieutenant Ferguson, of Christchurch, of pneumonia. Corporal 11. J. Andrews, of Ashburton, pneumonia, and Trooper Whitehead, pleurisy, have been admitted to the hospital since Saturday.

ARRIVAL AT CHRISTCHURCH. JOYOUS FRIENDS THRUST ASIDE FORMALITIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. Tho returning members of the Fourth and Fifth Contingents, and somo of the Reserves, arrived by tho express to-night. There were 71 Canterbury men, and 70 or 80 North Island and Blenheim men who had declined to go with the Tagus, being dissatisfied with the conditions. There was considerable confusion at the station. The Garrison Band and three companies of volunteers had assembled to escort the men through the town, and the Mayor was present to officially welcome them. However, the men were not formed up, and wore taken charge of by friends, and it was found impossible to complete tho programme which had been arranged. Tho North Island men went on by the boat. On the arrival of the returned troopers to-day Trooper Harwood, of New Brighton, had to bo removed to the hospital, suffering from pneumonia.
