SNOWSTORMS.
BRACING WEATHER NORTH AND SOUTH. Bv Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Saturday. Snow fell heavily during tiie night, and is still falling steadily. All the football fixtures had to be postponed. Last night. Although no snow has fallen sinco yesterday afternoon the hard frost last night prevented its inciting, and tho ground is still covered to a depth of several inches. It is freezing again tonight, so probably it will be days beforo the snow finally disappears. Dunedin, Saturday. .. The weather is bitterly cold, snow falling almost continuously, with short in tervals.
Wellington, Saturday. The weather is still bitterly cold, and a light fall of snow, the first for many years, took place in the City between 11 and 12 o’clock to-day. Auckland, last night. The last three days have been the worst this year as far as the weather is concerned. A heavy thunderstorm and bitterly cold rain squalls have passed over the to wn, sometimes accompanied by hail.
Tiniaru, Saturday. About an inch of snow fell at 0 a.w., on the hills.
