The annual championship show of tho Wellington Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Society was opened to-day by the Governor. The number of exhibits form a record. Sir Joseph Ward, who made a short speech, mentioned that during. tho past few days orders had boon received from South Africa for the supply of three thousand fowls monthly. Owing to the non-arrival of tho judge from Melbourne on account of the long passage of the Mokoia, the judging of the poultry could not bo proceeded with. In Pekin ducks D. Burr took special and champion ; R. W. Thompson in Norwich canaries ; A. Field for Scotch fancy canaries. -
