FLOODS IN AMERICA.

By Telegraph -Press Association—Copyright New York, June 20. The flood caused by the bursting of a cloud and breaking of a dam in Virginia did appalling damage in Elkhorn Valley. It disinterred numerous bodies in lloiff Cemetery, causing an exaggerated idea of the number of fatalities. The miners at Algonia, standing up to their waists in water, rescued twentythree women and children floating past. Several negro plunderers wore shot. The flood destroyed a railway trestle bridge over the Wabash river, Indiana. A passenger train plunged into the abyss, and fifteen people were killed.
