THE HUNT.

There was beautiful weather yesterday for the meeting of the Poverty Bay Hunt Club. It was a drag hunt over the town course, starting at Tucker’s paddock, tho first check being at the Park racecourse. Mr J. Malone, on Malcolm, was the huntsman; Mr Dan Barry, on Pirate, was the Whip, and in the absence of Mr J. A. Harding, Mr J. M. Gouldsmith, mounted on Fencer, officiated as Master. Among others present were Mr C. Parker, on Albion ; Mr W. Scott, on Knight Templar; Mr D. Bennett, on Serenader ; Mr B. Steggatt, on Hippogriff; Mr L. Nolan, on Caitiff; Mr Reilly, on a roan; Mr Davidson, on a black, and Mr Colin Dunlop, on a chestnut. Mrs Dunlop, mounted on A Serenader, also took part in the hunt. The pace was very fast, the horses jumped well, and there were no casualties, except that a boy got an upset in the second check. The hunt finished at the Roseland Hotel.
