OLD AGE PENSIONS TO BE PERMANENT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, Juno 18. Parliament has opened. The speech indicated that steps would bo taken to abolish the trade coupon systom. Extreme caution would have to bo exercised over the State finances. A Bill will be introduced to make old ago pensions a permanent measure. It was also proposed to abolish the present educational system, payment to be by results instead of by a fixed scheme of salaries.
