THE LINDA WEBER.

ENQUIRY AS TO FITNESS OF VESSEL. Enquiries are being made as to the fitness or otherwise of the missing vessel Linda Weber when she left Gisborne on the voyage from which she never returned. Mr Pasley, Collector of Customs, and the Harbormaster, Captain Thomson, have made statements which are to be forwarded to Auckland. The Harbormaster, we understand, affirms that the vessel was in every way well equipped for sea. Her sails had been overhauled at Gisborne; the ballasting had been satisfactorily done, and in every respect so far as Captain Thomson could judge, the vessel was in good condition to put out to sea. _ We understand that the Collector of Customs supports the statement made by the Harbormaster.
