MARTHA’S DIVERSION.
SHE ENTERTAINS THE DUKE,
[Special to Times.] Wellington, last night. The well-known Gisborne Maori lady Martha Te Kani, who was specially prominent on the platform when the Indian troops visited Gisborne, created a diversion here this afternoon by marching after the Duke’s carriage, and holding up a Union Jack. Martha is desirous of an interview with the Duke, but has so far not been able to obtain it.
