Crossbred wethers, maiden ewes, Canterbury 4d, Dunedin and Southland Bj}d, North Island BJd ; lamb, prime Canterbury 5 7-16 d ; fair average, including Dunedin, Southland, Wellington, and secondary Canterbury, 5 5-16 d ; New Zealand beef, 1801 b to 2201 b, fair average quality, ox fore-quarters, 23-8 d ; River Plato crossbred or merino wethers, heavy 2,Jd, light 2 3-Sd.

The following cable has been received from the Agent-General, dated London, June loth :—“ Average prices to day : Canterbury mutton, 3.1 d ; Dunedin, 8-}d ; North Island, 3d ; Australian, 28-8 d ; River Plate, 2ld ; lamb, Canterbury, 5 3-8 d ; New Zealand brands other than Canterbury, 5 l-8d ; Australian, 41}d ; New Zealand beef, hindquarters, 8 5-8 d ; fores 2M. There has been a better demand in the mutton market this week. There is a better demand for lamb ; markets firm. Hemp, good fair Wellington grade, on spot to-day, per ton, is £25 10s ; fair current Manila, £33. Cocksfoot, 3s 9d. There arc signs of an improvement in the cocksfoot seed market.”
