A WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION,
[By Telegraph—Press Association]. Christchurch, last night. An association of women school teachers was formed hero yesterday, with the object of securing proper recognition of the women teachers. MAN KILLED.
Thomas Ronsch, or Stevenson, a greaser on board the steamer Gothic, was found on the railway lino between Christchurch and Lyttelton on Friday night with his skull fractured. It is surmised that he was going to visit friends at Woolston, and fell off the train. He was taken to Lyttelton and an operation performed, but he died yesterday afternoon. At the inquest in tho afternoon a verdict was returned that the man met his death by falling off a moving train. Deceased was a native of Yorkshire, and.had shipped in London.
SUICIDE. The inquest on the body of Mrs Plunkett, whq was found drowned in a pond, resulted in a verdict of suicide while temporarily insane. Several witnesses deposed that though mooning and brooding oyer her past life and her recent marriage with Atkinson, a dentist, she was not iiigane, but was quite capable of knowing what she was doing. Her medical attendant was of the same opinion,
