Another indication of the speedy return of the Court to Pekin is that the China Merchants’ Company, of Shanghai, is transmitting tributes of rice to Tientsin. The Times’ correspondent at Pekin reports that tho British peace proposals aro likely to ho adopted as the basis of an edict in which the Chinese indebtedness I will be admitted at four hundred and fifty million taels, plus interest. The Allies then bogin the work of evacuation, aud China will willingly comply with the terms laid down. Count Waldorseo has reduced the area of foreign occupation. The Morning Post states that a Yunnau syndicato has secretly projected a loan, having securod the right to construct a railway from Seoul to Ping Yang. The French Government supports tho project. The contract awaits tho sanction of the Emperor of Corea. The German quarter in Pokin is to bo experimentally entrusted to tho Chinese authorities for a fortnight. PANIC CAUSED BY INSURGENTS.
