CANTERBURY SHOW.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) ■ Christchurch, last night. The combined winter show of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association and the Canterbury Horticultural Society was opened by the Premier tonight. Though there were not many exhibits from beyond Canterbury, the Show was a distinct, success. Among tho outside exhibits were sheep from the Totara estate, North Otago ; cheese from Ivaikoura and Waikouaiti, and ducks from Tapanui. South Canterbury made good showing in the horticultural section. Fat sheep made a magnificent display. The cattle wore few in number, but included some choice animals. Pigs were good, and roots and farmers’ classes for dairy produce were good sections, but there was not much competition in export classes for dairy produce. The horticultural display’ was surprisingly’ good for the time of the year. The Waikouaiti factory won tho Cup for the most points in cheese.
