By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Hobart, May 23. Mr Charles Hudson, of New Zealand, has been appointed General Manager of Tasmanian railways. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. Mr Hudson', whom a cable messago announces has been appointed general manager of Tasmanian railways, was originally in the service of the Great Western Railway Company, in which, beginning on the lowest rung of the ladder, he steadily worked his way up to the position of station master. Coming to this colony, Mr Hudson entered the service as relieving officer at Wanganui, and he was afterwards associated with Mr Maxwell and the work of re-organisation. In 1884 he was appointed traffic manager on the Auckland section, whence he graduated to his present position of assistant general manager. Mr Hudson recently made an extended tour of Tasmania, and acquired a thorough insight..into the railway system of that colony. ,
