EXPEDITION SQUABBLE.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright

London, May 19. Nature, in commenting upon differences that arose in regard to the command of the projected expedition to the Antarctic regions, blames the Council of the Royal Geographical Society for refusing to endorse a compromise which Mr A. Gregory aocepted. Professor B. Poulton accuses some of the committeemen of the Royal Society of having sacrificed an exceptionally conipetent Antarctic scientific leader for the sake of peace. A difficulty arose between the Royal Society and the Geographical Society, the former insisting that the command should devolve on the director of the civilian staff, while the other staff demanded a naval officer.
