MILITARY RE-ORGANISATION.

VICTORY FOR THE GOVERNMENT.

OPPOSITION BADLY BEATEN.

By Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright London, May 17. In the House of Commons the debate on the army re-organisation resolution has been concluded. Mr Brodrick, in the course of a spirited summing-up, urged that there was comparative unanimity on the part of Government, and that it was hopeless to wait for unanimity amongst the military experts. Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman’s amendment was negatived by 327 to 211. There was no cross voting. The Unionists abstained from voting. Their number included Messrs Winston Churchill, Yerburgh, Colomb, Major Rasch, Colonel Welby, Goulding, and Gratton. The resolution was then put and carried by 305 against 163.
