The experiment of detraining and entraining the returning New South Wales and Queensland troops at Albany was higjjly satisfactory. Within a short time eight trains, conveying 1090 men, 400 horses, guns, waggons, and baggage, were detrained, fed, and entrained, without the slightest hitch or mishap. The military authorities are highly pleased, and consider that in a case of emergency it would he much quicker. A tribal light at Berlin Haven, Bismarck Archipelago, resulted in two men and two women being killed. The ringleader was arrested, but escaped. Melbourne, May 10.
