The Napier Telegraph states : —“ Col. Porter, who left in charge of the Seventh Contingent, and was supposed to hand the men over and return her 1 to take over another position,’ it is now said, will be appointed to the' position of commander of all the New Zealanders in South Africa. Possibly when the .House meets a question or two may be asked in connection with this matter.” There is jealousy somewhere.
