ARBITRATION COURT.
INCBEASING WAGES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. At the Arbitration Court to-day, when the butchers' dispute came on, Mr Justice Cooper said that ho saw no reason to suppose the conditions oLtvade were different in Christchurch from those in Wellington, ami the Court here would adopt the Wellington award. • The Union delegates were ngreoablc to this, but the employers objected, saying that a lower rate of wages had always ruled in Christchurch. His Honor said ho would take it that the Union had made out a case for the adoption of the Wellington award. The case was adjourned till Thursday to enable tho employers to consider what course they would adopt, and whether they would bring ovidonco to show why the Wellington award should not be adoptod. The moulders' dispute has been concluded, and the Court is now considering the award.
On Monday Mr Justice Cooper will go to Dunedin.
