QUARTER MONEY
(To the Editor.) Sir, —i n reply to Mr Bull, who has been courteous enough to notice my letter, I have only what I am told by the children to go by, and they say that the teacher did use the" cane because the money was not up to time, saying at the same time that that was a reminder. However, my query is but partly dealt with. I want to know if this is the only school in the district that quarter money is charged. I want to know if it is law or only custom. For my own part I do not mind which it is ; but still, it would be a satisfaction to know. Mind, I do not object to pay the money, for I would sooner pay quarter money than go from shop to shop in order to purchase tho trifles that are charged for. I should still be obliged if the question is answered. Surely it is not an unreasonable one.—l am, etc., Inquirer.
