Ninety-four Boers, with 280,000 cartridges and 100 waggons with teams of 207 horses, ’ have bcetficaptured. A BATTLE IMMINENT. Babington, Methuen, and Major Sir Henry Rawlinson are trying to surround the Boor loader. A battle is imminent. Columns? in the northern districts are executing a wide movoment, with the object of clearing the bush veldt, and Bundle is conducting a similar movement in' tho north-east of the Orange River Colony.

The Reception Committee arc anxious to carry out their programme for Wednesday, as arranged, and arc asking permission of the Now Zealand Shipping Company to keep the Tongariro, which arrives to-night outsido tho Hoads, until Wednesday morning. Later.—lt has boon finally decided that the rocoption to tho troopers coming by tho Tongariro shall take placo on Wednesday. A BRAVE OFFICER. Auckland, last night. The Premier is advised that Lieutenant Heather, lato of tho Second Contingent, is back again in South Africa, having voluutoerod for further sorvicc.
