GOLD RETURNS

SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENT. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. The quantity of gold exported Inst month was 22,5800 z, value 4183,067, as compared with 20,3530 z, value 4176,822 for April last year. The figures for last month were : Auckland, 10,9340 z ; Nelson, 300 oz ; Greymbuth, 3011 oz ; Dunedin, 1815 oz Invercargill, 1020 oz. The export of gold for tho first four months of the current year was 137,870 oz, an increase of 21,6030 z over the similar period of 1900.
