CLOSE SETTLEMENT,
AGITATION IN HASTINGS.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Napier, last night. A well-attended public meeting was held at Hastings to-night, and a resolution was passed urging upon the Government tho advisibility of acquiring properties in s the district suitable for close settlement. A committee was appointed to suggest to tho Government a list of properties suitable for the purpose.
