CONCILIATION BOARD.

DECISION IN REGARD TO KAITAN GAT A. Per Press Association—Copyright. Dunedin, last night. The Conciliation Board gave its decision in the Kaitangata dispute to-day. It orders the parties to the dispute to enter into an industrial agreement, to last till November 30th, as follows:—Enginedrivers to be paid a minimum wage of £2 16s a week; firemen to receive a minimum wage of 7s a day; firemen to receive wages equal to time and a half on Sundays; firemen to receive assistance to tap coal for firing purposes. The Board fixed the Bth inst as the day for the parties to attend and say whether they accept the recommendation. In connection with the Shag Point dispute, tho Board decided that trucking by miners should not cover over 75yds; for every 25yds or part of 25yds beyond this distance a miner should be paid 4d extra per ton. The miner is not to be responsible for bis road beyond one chain. At the Conciliation Board the recommendation in the dispute between the Bakers' Unions and tho Master Bakers of Southland was that an agreement similar to the Dunedin agreement be entered into. Proceedings in connection with the Nightcaps Coalminers’ dispute were adjourned to the 9th May. Waihi, last night. The Board of Conciliation examined Snelgar, underground manager of the Jubilee Mine, re the dismissal of Humphreys. The witness declared that the dismissal was not duo to Humphreys giving evidence for the Union, but because he was away too long, and failed to report himself, necessitating the employment of another hood,
