PUBLISHERS CITED FOR CONTEMPT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyr'ght Sydney, April 30. Before a Full Court, Air Alack, on behalf of Airs Jane Smith, applied for a rule nisi citing the publisher of the Daily Telegraph to show cause why he should not be attached for contempt of Court for publishing a.statement calculated to interfere with the due course of justice, and prejudicing her in the eyes of the public in connection with the late trial. Similar applications were made regarding the Sunday Times, Australian Star, and Newcastle Morning Herald. Rules arc granted returnable on Friday. The Daily Telegraph was cited for publishing a cable from Melbourne forecasting fresh evidence iu the Tftluno case. The others are cited for commenting on the disagreement of the jury, stating that seven of the jurors were for conviction, and five against.
