IMPORTANT LAND SALE.

(Special to Tutus.) Wuiroii. Saturday. Therc,was n large attendance at the sale of town anil suburban properties held in the Jubilee Hall this afternoon, intending purchasers being present from both Napier and Gisborne. The properties under offer were those in the estate of the late Edwin Carter. Competition was not so keen as was expected, the reserves on a number of properties not being reached, and consequently several were passed in, two of which, however, found purchasers at the reserve price at the conclusion of the sale. Mr ,T. W. Sargi sson weilded the hammer, and Mr Humphreys, of Napier, solicitor for the estate, read the conditions of sale before the properties were put up to auction. The following were the properties offered ;

Lot I.—Opoiti block, 2412 acres, X2 per acre being the best offer the property was passed in.

Lot —Sections 10, 122. 128 Taramarama Block: 34 and tie, Wairou Military Settlement. 1238 acres.—No bid. •- Lot B.—Section 125.- Taramarama block. 7to acres, title : Land Transfer. —No bid.

Lot -t.—Section 2. Crasertown, 1 rood, title : Land Transfer.—Xlß, Mrs Goslen. Lot s.—Section ;iO. Mahia. 1 rood, 4 perches, title : Crown grant.—No bid. Lot o—Sections0 —Sections 4.4, 475, 470, 477. GB2. olid, 634. GOb. G3G. 2 acres 1 rood, Clyde town, with seven-voomed house, outbuildings and improvements : title derived from Crown grants. At Xl9O this propert\ was passed in. Lot 7 —Sections GbS. Goff, 6GO, 812, Sl3, Sl4. 1 TtSre 2 roods ; title, land transfer. Passed in at X'ss. Lot S—Section 415, class 2, Clyde, 10 acres ; title, Crown grant. Started at X'2o per acre, and in X'2 10s bids ran up to j-85. at which price Mr G. Britncll became the mu'ehnser,

Lot y—section 547, class 1, Clyde. 3 acres, Crown grant. There being no offer the property was passed in. Lot 10—Sections S 3, 84, So, S 6, 87. SS, S 9. 90, 2 acres, title sections 87, SS, 89, land transfer, remainder Crown grants. Passed in at X 75. This section was sold to Mr Shaw for X'9o at the conclusion of the sole.

x-ut lx —Sections 131, 132,’ 188, 154; 13b, 2 acres 4 perches; title, land transfer. Passed in at £65. After the sale this lot was put up again, and knocked down to Mr McKay atX7O.

Lot 12—Sections 525, 526, 527, 528, 588,-584. 585, 586 ; 2 acres ; laud transfer derived from Crown grants. X6O, Mr J, Morgan. Lot 18—Sections 76 and 78, 2 roods 22 perches; 76 Crown grant, 7S memorial of transfer under Hating Act, 1876. .£3O, Mr Shaw.

Lot 14—Sections 541 and 542, 2 roods ; Crown grant. <£lo, Mr Neale.

Lot 15—Section 137,1 rood 4 perches ; Crown grant under Bating Act, 1876. Passed in at X'lo.

-Lot 16—Section 883,1 rood 20 perches; Crown grant, Passed in.
