ADDRESSES 2500 PEOPLE AT EDINBURGH. EXTRAORDINARY SCENES OF VIOLENCE. HIRED ROUGHS EXPEL DISSENTIENTS. By Telegraph--Press Association—Copyright London, April 28. Mr Morriman (tho Afrikander Bond emissary) addressed a meeting of 2500 persons, who were admitted by ticket, at tho Waverley Market, Edinburgh. Extraordinary scenes of violence occurred. Five hundred hired roughs expolled scores of dissentients, who persisted in singing patriotic songs. Mr Morriman urged tho establishment of a United South Africa, governed on the model of Australia. Many thousand unti-Boors outside were refused admission. Tho police had great difficulty in preserving peace. The Scotsman says that such a display of brutality on the part of the organisers of a mooting had never previously disgraced Edinburgh.
