McLaurin, a local candidate, wa elected for Hume, vice Sir W. Lyne. " Messrs Wyllic nnd Mason have several important auction announcements in this morning’s issue of sales to bo held to-day. At 11 o’clock they will offer a finelot of new consignment goods, which N-ill bo sold absolutely without reserve in order to make room for goods arriving on account - of Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. At * noon, under instructions from the Public Trustee, the leasehold estate of Mr James Pimley, of allotment 14 of the Pouparae block, containing 35 acres, 1 rood, 26 perches, at an annual rental of L4l 18s. At the Horse Bazaar at 2 p.m. a number of horses will be offered, including tho roan gelding Three Star, by Castor— Vivandiere, and the chestnut gelding Xmas by-Daniel O’Rourke—Nellio ; also hacks and harness horses.
