TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES,

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Dunedin, last night. The newly.- formed Tramway Employees Union has made a demand on the City Council and Tramway Companies for an increase of wages. The demands made are 8s per day for drivers, 9s for grip and motor men, 10s for engine drivers, B's for conductors ; hours, 48 per week; overtime, time and a-quarter, find on Sunday time and a-half. THE YORKS. The Mayor has received a tolegram from the Premier, stating that it is not yet known whether the Yorks will travel by train or steamer from Christchurch to Dunedin. The Premier is making a recommendation in favor of the train.
