IMPORTANT WORK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Thames, last night. The Victoria Company intend carrying out important work by means of a Government diamond drill, assisted by a substantial subsidy from the Mines Department. It is proposed to bore two thousand feet on the foreshore, with the object of ascertaining whether the rich reef worked by the Caledonian and other properties exists outside the seaward side. The work is of great interest in relation to the future of the Thames.
