( In the House of Commons Lord Cranbourne stated that Mr McCleary Brown had not been dismissed. A settlement in regard to the matter was probable. Lord Lansdowne stated that tho AngloGerman agreement appled to all China, including Manchuria. Groat Britain is indisposed to carpingly criticise the Russian arrangements to temporarily protect tho interests of Manchuria. The published version of the convention appeared to infringe British rights there and elsewhere. It would be wiser if Russia published tho text of the convention, dissipatiug suspicions. Meanwhile Britain and Germany had advised China to refrain from private separate agreements with any individual Power. Six Viceroys and seven Governors have protested against the Manchurian Convention.
