FOOTBALL.
CITY FOOTBALL CLUB.
The first general meeting of the above Club was held in the Masonic Hotel last evening, there being a large attendance of players present. Mr 11. 0. Watson presided. It was decided that the colors of the Club be black and red.
The followingoflicers were then elected : President, Rev. Canon Webb ; Vice-presi-dents, Revs. Williams and Paterson and Father Mnlvihill, Judge Batham, Drs. Hughes and Williams, and Messrs \. l’ykc, F. Parker, F. T. Morgan, T. Steele, 11. Martin, J. Quinn, .T. Coleman, It. X. Jones, A. 11. Mackey, and Larsen; captain, Mr AV. Duggan; vice-captain, Mr It. Jones; secretary and treasurer, Mr A.
Adair; auditors, Messrs H. G. Watson and J. W. Rain; delegates to Rugby Union, Messrs AV. Duggan and R. Cole ; management committee, Messrs A. AVebb, 11. Burns, C. Freer, R. Cole, L. Steele, and A. Coleman, with the captain, vicecaptain, and secretary (ex oilicio); selection committee, Messrs AV. Duggan, It. Jones, and It. Cole.
The subscription to the club was fixed at os for seniors and 2s (id for juniors. The captain, vice-captain, and secretary were appointed a committee to draw up rules for the management of the club. The meeting by a large majority instructed its delegates to the Union to vote in favor of the matches being played on (Saturday afternoons. Messrs J. AVebb, R. Cole, and AV. Howard were nominated as referees to the Union.
The secretary stated that the Club had already 25 senior players and 20 juniors, so that by the time the Cup matches start the club should bo able to put two good teams in the field.
A vote of thanks to the Chair brought a very successful meeting to a close.
WEST END FOOTBALL CLUB,
A meeting of the above club was hold at the Record Reign hotel last evening, when there was a large attendance of members. Mr D. C. Ilawkins presided. It was resolved that the colors of the club bo black, with white shield with black letters, AV.E.F.C. The following officers were elected : Patron: Hon. J. Carroll. President: Mr AV. (). Skcct. Vice-Presidents: Messrs J. AV. Nolan, A. F. Kennedy, D. Hepburn, AV. Fraser, 12. Woolright, and Rev. 11. Williams. Captain, AV. O'Connell; ViceCaptain, 1.. Sherrill'; Secretary,.!. Nutting; Treasurer, It, T. M. Kolierc ; Management Committee, C. Taylor, I>. C. Hawkins, Ngatu, L. Nolan, and L. Williams; delegates to Union, J. Nutting and D. C. Hawkins.
The delegates to the Rugby Union were instructed to use their influence to try and get some of the matches played on Thursday Ilf bC U'UOOIIS. The secretary stated that the Club was starting with a membership of fifty-six.
The committee were instructed to frame rules, and submit same to a meeting to be held that night fortnight. Before terminating the meeting, Mr AVoolright, viee-President, generously asked the Club, whom he wished every success,, to drink his health, which was done with musical honors. A hearty vote of thanks to the Chair terminated the proceedings.
KALTI FOOTBALL CLUB. At the meeting of Kniti footballers, held at the Masonic Hotel, Mr J. Eaton presided, and it was decided, on the motion of Messes Kirk and Bright, to establish a club, the subscription to be 5s seniors and 2s (Id for juniors, colors to lie blue and black, the colors of the late Gisborne Club. The following officers were elected :—President, Mr J. A. Harding ; vice-presidents, Messrs G. P. Davies, J. A. Colebonrnc, J. Bright, AV. L’ettic, ,1. R. Jones, C. IT. AV. Dixon, F. S. Dosßavrcs, T. A. Coleman, AV. Green, 12. 11. Maude, G. R, Wyllie, If. C. Jackson, Frank Harris, J. AV.Witty, \V. .1. Cox, AV. P. Finncran, E. R. Murphy, and Dr Craig ; captain, Mr T. Kirk ; deputy-captain, Mr D. Porter ; secretary and treasurer, Mr ,T. Eaton ; committee, Messrs T. F. Crawford, Colohourne, Bright, Kellctt, 12. L. Maude, .Hansen and Coleman ; delegates to Poverty Bay Rugby Union, Messrs J. Eaton and E. 11. Maude ; auditors, Messrs Coleman and Hussey ; selection committee, Messrs Crawford, Porter, AV. Gibson, and captain and secretary. A committee consisting of Messrs Ilussey, Bright, McLeod and Witty was appointed to obtain names of all players willing to join (he second fifteen.
