At a meeting of the Northern Australian League, a body having for its object tho construction of a trans-Continental railway, it was pointed out that by means of a railway and tho completion of the Siberian line London would be brought within 23 days of Melbourne. It was eventually decided to interview tho Russian Consul and urge tho establishment of a lino of steamers from Port Arthur to Port Darwin.
