AUSTRALIAN CABLES.
By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright Sydney, March 16. Mr /Arthur Adams, the New Zealand war correspondent in China, is among the passengers for New Zealand by the Mokoia, which left to-day. The commission appointed by the Government to enquire into the working of the Arbitration and Industrial Act of New Zealand, also left for Wellington by the Mokoia. Received March 18, 1 a.m. Sydney, March 17. The Auckland and Southern portions of the English mail Rave been sent by the Mokoia. The troopships Custodian and Maplemore, with the New South Wales Contingent, sailed to-day. The coal lumbers’ have been locked out. Work abroad the steamer Ventura is, however, being proceeded with. The Federal Commission held a formal meeting yesterday. The Colonial-Secre-tary supplied them with a quantity of statistical information. The Commission meet Mr Barton on Tuesday.
