THE CASE OF MRS FOGO. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Dunedin, last night. Tho Mayor has received a reply from the Inspector of Prisons with respect to tho petition praying that tho jury’s recommendation to mercy in the caso of Sarah Fogo, convicted of the murder of her husband, be given effect to. The reply states that tho Minister oannot sec sufficient grounds to justify him in recommending His Excellency to comply with tho request, further than has already been done. RIFLE ASSOCIATION. For the Now’Zealand Rifle Association meeting at Wanganui entries have been received from 24 volunteers and four members of Rifle Clubs. DREDGING RETURNS.
