Tolago Bay, last night. A sitting of the court took place here to-day, before Mr W. A. Barton, S.M., the following cases being dealt with:— Judgment by default was given in the cases: McLachlan and Co. v. Himiona Awanui, claim L 4 14s, costs 19s; same v. A. Curtis, L 6 7s;6d, costs LI 10s 6d; same v. Meha Korowhaki, L 6 7s 6d, costs L 3 0s 6d; same v. Huinga Tunua, L 4 13s 2d, costs 27s 6d ; same v. Taku Mahi, L 9 15s 9d, costs 30s 6d ; same v. Tuere Pearata, L 3 8s Bd, costs 27s 6d ; same v. Whatu Whahatahu (paid into court), costs LI 10s 6d allowed ; same v. Para, LI 8s 3d, costs 22s 6d ; same v. Hirini Tawhera, L 4 2s, costs 27s 6d ; same v. Tekiria, LlO Bs, costs 37s 6d ; same v. Atirana Kopua, L 6 11s 3d, costs 22s 6d ; same v. Pare Kopua, L 4, costs 27s 6d; same v. Ngawai, Ll2 12s lid, judgment confessed ; same v. Hoani Potaka, 14s 6d, costs 7s 6d ; same v. Peta Hawa, Ll 4 is 9d, costs 17s 6d : Williams and Morris v. Konekehuihui, L 6 3s 9d, costs 10s; C. Smith v. G. T. Joha, 5s 6d, costs 13s; same v. Mauru Bangi, L2 7s 6d, costs 8s; same v. Ihaka, 30s, costs 8s ; same v. Poilu, L 4 10s 3d, costs 3s; same v. Miku Karaihore, 19s, costs 22s 6d ; same v. Mihaka Pura, L 3 Is 9d, costs 37s 6d. A number of other cases were adjourned.
The Auckland City Council are at last moving in the direction of securing an up-to-date fire brigade and fire station, The first step has been to secure a freehold property in Pitt streot running through to Bcresford street, upon which to erect a central station.'VMessrs Baker Bros., Auctioneers, of Auckland, negotiated the matter last week, the purchase money being £2IOO. The Council will now build and equip an up-to-date fire station.
