HARBOR BOARD ELECTION.
A special meeting of the Harbor Board has been convened for 2 p.m. on Tuesday next, to decide what roll is to be used for the forthcoming election. This meeting is being held in consequence of the question raised as to the roll that should have been used for the last election. The Chairman is of opinion that the proper roll was used, but is leaving it to the Board to take responsibility as a whole. / Nominations in connection with the election of twq to\yn members close today. So far Mr F. Harris is the only candidate who has publicly notified his intention of standing, but we understand that Messrs Pettie, Whinray, and Joyce, and Captain Tucker, and probably Mr T. Steele, will be nominated to-day. Mr A. F. Matthews, one of the candidates at the election which was declared void, has definitely decided not to stand.
