THE LABOR TROUBLE,

PROBABLE SETTLEMENT.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland, last night. The result of Mr Trcgear’s interview with Mr Barry, the manager at Wailii, is that the latter has agreed to reinstate all the men dismissed from the mine sinco tho presentation of tho union demands, as soon as they drop tho matter in dispute. Molloy, the secretary of the union, and Drumm would be reinstated forthwith, owing to Mr Trcgcar’s personal assurance that they took no active part against the Company. This is an acknowledgment of tho important principle that officials of the union are not to be singled out for presenting the claim. Those concessions may result in a satisfactory solution of the difficulty when the ballot of the union is taken next Saturday.
