CYCLING.
Tub inaugural meeting of the Poverty Bay Cycling Club takes place to-morrow. The cycling track is in splendid order for the cycling sports to-morrow. An X frame, the latest thing in bicycle construction, has already made its appearance in the streets of Christchurch. Bicycle stealing (says the Wheelman) is becoming an everyday occurrence in Christchurch. The following bicycles were reported to the police as having been stolen in this city last weekA Rover, an old Humber, a Federal, Bell, and Waverley. At a meeting of the South Canterbury centre of the League of New Zealand Wheelmen, T. Robertson had his license cancelled for riding at an unlicensed meeting—the Caledonian sports gathering at Oamaru at New Year.
