The late rains gave six months’ supply of water, and the Mount Morgan mine is in full swing again. Great difficulty is being experienced in delivering federal election documents in outside districts owing to the effects of tho drought. In some districts special coaches are necessary, and others can only be reached with the aid of camels. Mr Philip sails in the troopship Templemore on three months holiday to South Africa. Mr Rutledge, Attorney-General, will be Acting-Premier during his absence. Hobart, March 5. Obituary: Mrs St. Hill, wife of Colonel St. Hill, who distinguished himself in the New Zealand war.
