OPENING OF PARLIAMENT.

TO BE ADJOURNED ON ACCOUNT OF ROYAL VISITORS.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. Tho usual date for the opening of Parliament is the ,22nd or 28rd of June, but as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall will be in the colony from the 11th to the 29tli of June, and it is not considered advisable for legislators to assemble during that period, it is quite possible that Parliament will be opened at the end of May for the transaction of some necessary business, and that both houses will then be adjourned until the first week in July. Messrs Atkinson and Fisher, city MJELR’s, both oppose Mr Seddon’s thousand men proposal.
