D.J.C. MEETING.

Dunedin, last night. The Dunedin Jockey Club was fortunate in having good weather for the final day, the rain, which was threatening, holding off. The attendance was large, and speculation brisk, .£6761 being put through, making £18,387 for the meeting, as against £16,031 last year. A number of the Indian troops attended. The results were :

Hurdles, 70 sovs., 11 miles.—Dundee; 1, Ilex 2. Sub Bosa also started, but ran off. Won by 15 lengths. Time 3.7: div. £1 11s.

Abbotsford Welter Handicap, 70 sovs., 7 furlongs.—Decoy and 'La Bcinc ran a dead heat, Bed Banner 3. Three others started. This was a splendid race, with an exciting finish. Time 1.34 ; div., on La Eeine £1 18s, on Decoy £2 3s. Hopeful Stakes, 100 sovs., 6 furlongs.— Canteen first, Bed Gauntlet second, Battler third. Won by two lengths, after a good race. Time 1.19 and l-sth ; div. £4 ss.

Anniversary Handicap, 150 sovs., 1J miles;—Nihilist 1, Cameo 2, Hermosa 3. Won by half-a-length. Time 2.12 and 2-sths; div. £6.

Hack Handicap, 40 sovs., 6 furlongs.— Muscovite 1, Terrapin 2, Stockmaid 3, Won by three lengths. Time 1.19 ; div. j6B.

Flying Handicap, 90 sovs., 7 furlongs.— Brisa 1, Hypnotist 2, Spider 3. Won by half-a-length. Time 1.32 ; div. £4 7s. Wingatua Stakes, 125 sovs., 6 furlongs. Menchikoff 1, Gold Spur 2. Won anyhow. Time 1.18 and 2-stlis ; div. £1 Is. Farewell Handicap, 60 sovs., 1 mile.— St. Denis 1, Hermosa 2, Belligerent 3. Three others started. St. Denis, whipping round at the post, lost six lengths; but, making up the ground, won by three parts of a length. Time 1.46 ; div. £5 14s. The Stewards decided to hold an enquiry into the running of St. Denis at the meeting,, and the totalisator money is locked up for the present.
