It seems that the school has not been making satisfactory progress for some time, and with a view to remedying this state of things, if possible, the head mistress has boon teaching the lower standdards, while the pupil teacher lias been teaching tho upper standards ! A state of topsy-turveydom worthy of one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic operas.

The • annual picnic and free distribution of gifts in connection with this school took place on Friday, and would have been a great success had it not been for the weather, which was showery and unpleasant. Mr John Davey, the popular Chairman of tho Committee, addressed the parents and children present, and distributed the prizes, The affair wound up with a social in the evening.
