A GALLANT CONSTABLE.

HIS SERVICES RECOGNISED,

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wanganui, last night.

At the Supreme Court to-day tho Chief Justice made a presentment on behalf of Constable O’Brien, of Waverley, on his gallant conduct on the occasion of the arrest of Cousins in the attempted murder of] a bank clerk named Hickson, near Waverley. The Grand Jury expressed the opinion that the constable, who, unarmed, followed and arrested .a man who had a loaded revolver in his possession, was entitled to some recognition. Justice Edwards concurred, and intimated that he would forward the presentment to the Minister for Justice.
