A special meeting of the Board was hold yesterday afternoon, there being present —Messrs Townley (chairman), Hepburn, Seivcwright, Matthewson, Clark, Macfarlane, Cooper, and Captain Tucker, Mr Townley said that the first business was to elect a chairman for the ensuing year, and lie asked for nominations, Mr Sicvwright : I move that Mr Townley be re-elected, Everybody will admit that there is not a member of the Board who will devote half as much time to the business as Mr Townley does. The only drawback is that you are making it uncomfortable for anyone who succeeds you, as you undertake so many duties. However, the Board should not complain, and I think we cannot do better than reelect yon as chairman. Mr Clark: I beg to second the motion. The Chairman: Any other nomination? Mr Clark: Carried unanimously. Mr Maefarlane : Put the motion. The! motion was then put, and Mr Townley was unanimously re - elected Chairman.

In thanking the members Mr Townley said: I thank you gentlemen and Air Sievwright for your Mud remarks. It is a pleasure to me to do anything for the improvement of the harbor.
