Mr Wildman, the American Consul
General at Hongkong and family. O. Dowdall, a well-known barrister. H. O. Mattbewson, an engineer employed by the Chinese Government. Alfred Hart, diamond expert from Manila, and his wife.
William Brander, a member of the London Stock Exohange, was saved by a life-preserver. Latest accounts state that Captain Ward, who was reported to have locked himself in his cabin, remained on the bridge until the ship foundered. „
