' In his annual report Sir Janies Hector, Chancellor of the Now Zealand University, refers to the protest received against and tho action of the Senate in abolishing all but the four large centres for the November examinations. Tho Parliamentary Committee had also recommended that the iivo centres proposed to be abolished should be retained, and the Premier had written in the same direction. The Senate would have to consider what action, if any, should be taken in consequence of their representation. The proposed changes in connection with the sonior scholarship and solicitors’ general knowledge examinations was also referrod to. ■
