The inquiry into the alleged inconsistent running of the horse Bluejacket in the Takapuna Jockey Club’s Handicap, was concluded to-night, the stewards, after a lengthy hearing, ’finding that the protest be (?not) sustained.. Joe Sceats, the rider of Bluejacket, is a Gisborne boy, and he claims that he was continually bumped by Kcgalia 11. Chaafe, the owner of Bluejacket, stated that he had given instructions to the Gisborne jockey to get away well, use his own judgment, and win if possible.

Liddinel O’Sullivan, who accompanied the horses from New Zealand, was kicked by Boreas. He received a fracture of the base of the skull and other serious injuries.
