At Tapanui to-day, the information against McCann was dismissed, and the heaving of the fresh information laid yesterday was adjourned. It was stated that McCann would only , allow one stranger to enter the bar at a time, and always locked the door behind him. Fearnloy and Williams, in the police employ, gave evidence as to being supplied with drink.

Williams, who was at one time in the Deeds Office, Napier/fixed no definite day, and for the defence evidence was given that on the day stated by Fearnley, McCann had gone away fishing from an early hour till late at night,
