A PETITION having been filed in the Magistrate’s Court, Gisborne, under the provisions of Sections 48 and 49 of “ The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,” by Edward Pattricks Joyce, a candidate for the election of members of the Gisborne Harbor Board, holden at Gisborne on the eleventh day of February, 1901, setting forth that William Pettie and James Whinray were declared to be duly elected to the said office, and that certain irregularities occurred at the said Election, tending to defeat the fairness thereof, and praying that an enquiry may be made into the said Election, and that the same may be declared void. Now I, the undersigned, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me under the aforesaid Act, do hereby notify that I will enquire into the said petition on TUESDAY, the 26th day of February, 1901, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon, at the Magistrate’s Court-house, Gisborne.
